Citation Appeals
The automated traffic camera citation may be appealed through a hearing at Chattanooga City Court:
- Files a sworn notarized statement with the Clerk of the Municipal Court prior to the return date on the citation identifying the name and address of the operator of the vehicle at the time of the alleged violation, (Download Affidavit Below); or
- Testifies under oath in open court on the assigned court date that he/she was not the operator of the vehicle at the time of the alleged violation, (Download Affidavit Below); or
- Presents to the court a certified copy of a police report showing the vehicle had been reported stolen prior to the time of the alleged violation, (Download Affidavit Below); or
- Proves through photographic evidence produced and maintained by the City that he/she was not the operator of the vehicle, (Download Affidavit Below); or
- Proves that the recorded image depicts the vehicle passing through the intersection as part of a funeral procession, (Download Affidavit Below); or
- Proves that the recorded image depicts the vehicle passing through the intersection to avoid impeding the efforts of an emergency vehicle passing through the intersection. (Download Affidavit Below)
Hearings may be scheduled the following ways:
1. Online: Visit http://onlineviolation.com/chattanoogatn/public/login.cfm to schedule a court hearing for the automated traffic citation. You will need your citation number and password shown on the original citation.
2. In Person: Appear at the following location to schedule a hearing:

Hearings must be requested five (5) days before the due date shown on the citation.
